Ministry

First and foremost, Saint Luke's Greeters create a positive welcome experience for all church visitors. A friendly and positive welcome experience could be most impactful for people who have been away and are now returning to the church, or visiting Saint Luke's for the first time. Saint Luke's Greeters will also assist people with any special needs such as the elderly or physically challenged, assist with the seating of latecomers or seating at Masses that have high attendance. In addition, Saint Luke's Greeters take up the collection offering.

We always welcome people who are interested in being a greeter. At this time we can use some help. Many of us consider the fact that we are at the Mass anyway so, why not assist this simple ministry while we are there. All are invited, men, women, young adults and families.

If you have any questions, or if you are interested in assisting the Greeter Ministry please contact the rectory office.

Going Through A Difficult Time,

Don’t Suffer Alone . . .

We’re brought up to be strong, self-sufficient, independent people. We tend to think that if we ask for help, it is a sign of weakness. So we try to keep our struggles hidden and are reluctant to ask for help. However, that’s not God’s plan. Galatians 6:2 says, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

God wants us to care for others - and allow others to care for us in our time of need. If you’re grieving or sad or struggling with a difficult situation in life, don’t suffer alone. Ask for help. Here at St Luke’s we have a team of Stephen Ministers who are ready to listen, care, encourage, pray, and help you through a tough time while maintaining confidentiality. Find out more about Stephen Ministry by contacting Elaine at the Parish Center at (201) 444.0272 ext 12.

Sr. Eileen Ivory, OP is one of our Pastoral Associates, assisting with the pastoral care of our parish community. She ministers to homebound, hospitalized and nursing home patients, visiting them and offering them prayers, conversation and Holy Communion. Intercessory Healing Prayer Team

The Intercessory Healing Prayer Team invites you to join our new ministry at St. Luke. We pray for those listed in the bulletin, and all those who need prayer for whatever reason.  If you desire to become closer to Jesus by helping others through prayer, then please consider joining us every Thursday evening at 7PM. We will be meeting in the Parish Office meeting Room (ground floor).  Come and see if this ministry is a fit for you to enhance your spiritual life.  If you or someone you know is in need of prayer, please let us know by using the Prayer Request Box in the church vestibule or by calling the parish office at 201-444-0272.
